About

Engineering across the whole operating path.

I work from user needs and architecture decisions through implementation, deployment, troubleshooting, and recovery. That range is the common thread across cloud support, product prototypes, infrastructure, and personal systems.

Profile

Based in Europe, shaped by hands-on operations.

I am an Italian engineer based in Italy and moving to Ireland, where I studied and where an EU citizen needs no work permit. I hold a BSc in Computing Systems and Operations (Software Development and DevOps) from Dundalk Institute of Technology, completed in May 2026. The degree combines software development, DevOps, systems deployment, networking, virtualisation, and operating systems.

A six-month AWS Support Engineer internship, completed in August 2026, put that range to work on the Deployment support team: customer cases taken to root cause across CloudFormation, the Code* deployment services, Elastic Beanstalk and ECS/EKS, tooling and written material for the engineers who take the next ones, and collaboration with teams across EMEA and the Americas. Earlier infrastructure work involved maintaining more than 20 servers and NAS systems, replacing failed components, analysing logs, and putting SMART and RAID health checks in place.

I use personal and group projects to test architecture choices in working software: local-first AI services, serverless integration, containerised platforms, transactional data models, failure simulation, observability, and private self-hosting.

Capabilities

A practical engineering toolkit

Grouped by the work each technology supports, not by keyword volume.

Cloud and architecture

From the AWS Deployment support team: CloudFormation, CodePipeline, CodeBuild and CodeDeploy, Elastic Beanstalk, ECS and EKS, Control Tower and Service Catalog, with blue/green and rolling deployments. From the projects on this site: serverless and event-driven design with Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, CloudFront, Cognito, IAM, KMS and CDK, plus Bedrock concepts. From the degree's lab work: Terraform, CloudWatch, EventBridge, SNS, CloudTrail, AWS Config and VPC Flow Logs.

Platform and reliability

Linux, Bash, PowerShell and Git across every project here. Docker and container hardening, Kubernetes with AKS and Kustomize, CI/CD, health checks and feature flags on the deployed ones. Grafana and Loki, SLOs and SLIs, backup and restore with defined RPO and RTO on the ones I operate. TrueNAS SCALE, ZFS, RAID and SMART on the home platform and the maintained server estate. From the degree's lab work: Ansible, Jenkins, Prometheus, ELK and Fluentd.

Networking

From the networking and routing modules of the degree: OSI and TCP/IP, IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, OSPF and BGP routing, VLANs, NAT, TCP and UDP, DHCP, DNS, SSH, TLS, and packet-level troubleshooting with Wireshark. Applied since: the private networking the self-hosted services sit behind, and diagnosing network interfaces on the maintained servers.

Application and integration

Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, FastAPI, Flask, HTML, responsive CSS, REST APIs, Server-Sent Events, SQL, stored procedures and transactions, SQLite, NoSQL, object-oriented design, data structures and algorithms, and adapter patterns.

Testing and delivery

Unit, integration, regression, and acceptance testing, TDD and BDD with Gherkin, Selenium, code coverage, Jenkins test pipelines, release planning, Agile iteration planning, and requirements engineering.

AI systems and evaluation

Amazon Q, Bedrock concepts, Ollama, model-output evaluation, deterministic fallback, confidence and provenance, human-in-the-loop design, and policy review.

Solutions communication

Requirements discovery, architecture trade-offs, technical writing, technical demonstrations and presentations, troubleshooting guidance, interactive prototypes, technical narratives, and cross-team coordination.
