Curriculum vitae

Matteo Mastore

Computing graduate working across cloud support engineering, systems administration, full-stack delivery and applied model integration. Six months on an AWS Deployment team, two years of paid work before that, and a set of self-hosted products built to keep working when a dependency does not.

Experience

Roles

Mar 2026 Aug 2026 Dublin, Ireland

Amazon Web Services

Support Engineer Intern, Deployment

  • Gained hands-on cloud experience in sandboxed environments, applying AWS service configuration and troubleshooting techniques in simulated deployment scenarios.
  • Built working knowledge of AI-assisted delivery tooling (Amazon Q Business and Developer) and completed structured training across core services, IAM, networking and deployment operations.
  • Collaborated with EMEA and Americas colleagues outside standard hours, working across time zones and communication styles.
Jun 2025 Sep 2025 Triggiano, Italy

Evolumia S.r.l.

IT Technician, Server and NAS Maintenance

  • Performed routine and emergency maintenance and hardware replacement (memory, disks, power supplies, network cards) on more than 20 servers and NAS units, configuring secure storage systems.
  • Reduced downtime by 30% with SMART disk monitoring, RAID health checks and automated log analysis.
  • Documented procedures and coached colleagues on safe replacement and ESD-aware handling.
  • Supported business-critical infrastructure for non-technical clients, diagnosing under time pressure and explaining root causes in plain language.
Sep 2024 May 2025 Remote, Ireland

Outlier AI

AI Reviewer

  • Evaluated AI-generated output for factual accuracy, coherence and policy compliance against detailed rubrics and benchmarks.
  • Identified model inconsistencies and gave structured feedback that improved training and evaluation data quality.

Projects

Selected work

Personal unless marked as group work. Case studies are linked where one exists.

Personal, 2026

King of Meal Prep

  • Designed and built a self-hosted meal-planning and kitchen-operations platform unifying recipes, pantry inventory, prepared-food stock, nutrition, shopping and guided cooking around one transactional data model.
  • Modelled cooking and inventory as idempotent, reversible transactions with compensating undo movements and tested schema migrations; added optional model-assisted recipe generation.
  • Delivered Docker and NAS deployment with authentication, encrypted backups, and automated correctness and security tests.

Personal, 2026

recsbot

  • Built a streaming recommendation-chat product pairing a FastAPI backend with an authenticated Flask frontend, with persistent conversations, preferences and feedback over server-sent events.
  • Designed interchangeable storage, model and authentication adapters (SQLite or DynamoDB, Ollama or managed inference, local or managed secrets) with deterministic offline fallback when inference is unavailable.
  • Implemented session authentication and password lifecycle flows, plus optional read-only Steam and Jellyfin taste adapters that degrade gracefully when credentials are absent.

Personal, 2026

Taste Platform

  • Designed and deployed a seven-stack AWS CDK architecture in eu-west-1 from May to August 2026: managed agent, DynamoDB, API Gateway with JWT authentication, private-only subnets, audit logging, customer-managed keys and no wildcard IAM policies.
  • Rebuilt the product provider-free for public release as a Python and SQLite API unifying ratings and tags across movies, shows, anime, games and music into one cross-media profile.
  • Implemented deterministic catalogue scoring with optional local Ollama generation and automatic fallback, keeping the product functional without a cloud account, and kept the CDK design as a parameterised reference with account, identity and endpoint values out of source.

Personal, 2025 to date

Home server platform

  • Operate a TrueNAS SCALE platform with redundant ZFS storage, scheduled snapshots, SMART diagnostics and dataset permissions.
  • Run containerised services behind private networking, with health checks, a separate always-on bastion for out-of-band access, and written recovery runbooks.

University group project, 2025

IoT Traffic Control Platform

  • Owned the observability stack (TimescaleDB, Grafana, Loki and Promtail) and Redis-backed feature flags, and wrote Python automation to build, tag and push container images to Azure Container Registry as part of the Kubernetes deployment pipeline, with Kustomize overlays per environment.
  • Diagnosed two production-only defects, a credential-seeding authentication failure and a GitOps configuration-drift issue, through systematic root-cause investigation.
  • Partnered on the data, observability and cloud-deployment workstream, coordinating with the engineers who owned CI/CD and GitOps tooling.

Six-person group project, 2026

Tensei

  • Designed the conversational-intake concept and framed the model as a translator between customer language and technical investigation, with three bounded resolution paths.
  • Built and deployed a ten-screen React and TypeScript prototype covering proactive alerts, progressive consent, visible reasoning, customer steering and context-preserving human escalation.

Five-person internship group project, 2026

SafeZone, community crisis response

  • Owned the shared API integration boundary and coordinated how independently developed serverless domains were exposed to the frontend, and integrated routing and responsive navigation into one coherent journey.
  • Was responsible for the static hosting and deployment workstream, and prepared the final interactive presentation covering architecture and verification.

Group project, 2026

Project ARIA

  • Contributed architecture-feasibility analysis to a multilingual healthcare-intake kiosk concept, challenging an unsupported single-pipeline language and voice assumption and separating processing paths by confirmed service capability.
  • Evaluated regional and cross-region data constraints and edge-compute trade-offs, and strengthened deterministic offline degradation and human-safety escalation paths.

Personal, 2026

This portfolio

  • Built a static multi-page site served from Cloudflare Workers, deployed automatically from GitHub, publishing only an allowlisted build with strict security headers and a custom not-found page.
  • Runs server code only on the contact route, where a Worker verifies a Turnstile challenge and emails each message to one verified address through Email Routing, storing nothing.
  • Keeps a test suite that fails on unsupported claims, duplicated page structure, redirecting canonical URLs or a policy that drifts from the page.
